It's the end of the school year, and one of the most important skills your students should keep up with during summer vacation is reading. A great homemade gift idea for your class is to give them decorative bookmarks to remember you by and to encourage them to read over the summer break. They are really easy to make with decorative edge scissors, a hole-punch, and some ribbon.
How to make the bookmark
- Simply cut out a rectangular shape out of decorative scrapbook paper, or colored cardstock paper that you have personalized in your printer or copier. The decorative cut edge adds the perfect flair to your homemade gift.
- Punch a hole at top, and add a ribbon to complete the project.
Are the kids already out of school for the summer? No problem. Make one of these for yourself to use in your favorite summer read. Or make it a summer craft project to welcome the next batch of students into your classroom in the fall.
